distributor cap problem..it pissing me off
My gsr was running fine. so i took the distributor cap off and had a friend try his distributor cap on my car in which we ended up not to anyways. Now my car won't start. I'm thinking no spark. can anyone think of what happen.
we didn't even do anything to the car beside taking off the distributor cap. All spark wires are in it's place and it won't start. Could it be because i rub my finger on the rotor and touched the coil?

ok.. but did you ACTUALLY CHECK? like, did you pull the plug out and check for spark VISUALLY? or just listen, and say no spark?
yes, it is more than likely the cap, but you should check it first.. lol

Yeah i actually did check for spark. Did the old method where you stick a screw driver into one of the spark plug wires and hold it next to a ground. Still no spark...any ideas?
well, try the cap and rotor.. i mean, there is a chance that your ignitor or coil went out.. check those too.. you should be able to measure resistance on them to test.. bust out a manual, and test your dizzy..
also, check all your wire harness plugs
lol

finally found out the problem, it was the ignition coil. I guess if you touch it without disconnecting the battery, it's a chance that you could shock it. hope this help anyone who's having ignition problem.
