help with injectors
ok so i was driving around on deliveries (dominos pizza) lol and well i started to smell gas.. so i stopped and looked under the car and noticed a little puddle.. i smelled it and sure enough it was gas.. i popped the hood and noticed there was gas right on the intake mani like close to whhere the injectors are.. i was wondering if the leaking gas could be coming from the injectors and how could i fix it?
Turn the car on and have someone rev the motor while you watch the IM area with a bright light. The problem would likely be worse at max fuel pressure, so you may want to check it at higher than idle RPM. This will let the FPR close a bit. Pinching off the FPR return line may help more fuel to squirt out but might cause a stall if done at idle. Pay extra attention to where the injectors connect to the fuel rail. This is the most likely place for the injectors to leak. If that's where the leak is, a set of injector seals isn't expensive or difficult to install.
Make sure it's not leaking from where the fuel line connects to the rail, it could leak there and run down the rail a bit, appearing to drip from the top of the injectors. If that's not the case, the seals where the injectors connect to the fuel rail is leaking and should be replaced. Replace them all even if just one is leaking.
yup it was the o rings where the injectors plug into the rail... i bought an o ring value pack at autozone for about 7 bucks and replaced them all!! sorry didnt keep you all updated
