SI Cluster or After market Tachometer
The stock cluster is a cleaner look, but the tach isn't as accurate as a good aftermarket unit
It's up to you really... make the decision on your own.

I went with the aftermarket tach from SunPro, nothing special, blends in nice with the dash and sits off the to top left of the steering wheel column. It does block the bottom half of the temp gauge but once it heats up the running temperature I can see the needle just fine, looks clean IMO. I really wanted it on the dash though, but there was no way in HELL I was pulling the whole dash off to reach the under side to put in the lock nut.
Thanks guy all this info is great. I think I am going to look for a SI cluster try and find an nice JDM one if not The shift light idea sounds interesting.
Ok I have another stupid question sorry.... So I was looking at some old postings and came across one that was explaining what EF, DX, SI and all that stand for and mean and what not. Well this is the part that got me.
STD (USDM) / 70hp / D15B1 / "Standard"
The most basic Civic Hatchback. 4 Speed Manual Transmission, no luxury features.
DX (USDM) / 92hp / D15B2 / "Deluxe"
The mid-level of Civic Hatchback. 5 Speed Manual available and 4 Speed Automatic, some luxury features, but still basic.
Ok So I thought my Car was a DX model but its only 4speed. So does this mean I am wrong and I dont own a DX? Because the DX is 5speed?

There are a few differences in the DX to STD model, one thats easy to tell from just looking (as long as the car hasn't been painted) is that the dx has body colour bumpers, the STD they are flat black regardless of body paint.
looking at your pics in the other thread i would need to assume you've got the standard model.

DX options that standard does NOT have:
- 5 speed tranny
- rear wiper
- cloth seats
- console around shifter
- tilt steering
- painted bumpers

Aftermarket tachs tend to be off by a couple hundred rpms. I went with a ukdm cluster. Remember function over form. You font need a monster 10k tach if you readline at 6500. Stick with oem till you actually need the other tachs
I bought my civic brand new back in 1989, i know the differences, plus i have the brochure...no such thing as it being an option
