Honda B16 vss
Transmission housing houses this Cable Actuated looking thing. Checked on Majestic honda (schemeatics) Del Ray Acura (schematics) nothing listed. Read that Newer vehicles have Electronic Vehicle Speed Sensor. This is on back of engine side, Trans housing. I am guessing it is the VSS. Cant find a drawing or a item that says it is. Cable is CUT. READ also that you must used cable from acura integras 1991-1992. My 1991 civic looks like it has a sensor like this but not as big. 1st main question Can i USE the cable on my 1991 honda civic and adapt it to this sensor? 2nd question. Does this cable go to the back of the SPEEDODMETER or TACHOMETER? YES THESE MABY DUMB. IM ONLY ASKING CUZ I DONT KNOW. 3rd and Final question. What are the hoses on my B16 cable actuated looking sensor. 2 cut hoses that look saturated in some sort of oil. Just need to know where these hoses go or if they are vents. AGAIN no drawing will tell me or any picture. Searched just found that newer cars have electronic and older ones have cable. just need locations and designatios THANKS to who ever can help.

That is actually a small pump
for "speed assisted power steering.."
The oil you found is power steering fluid..
Since it is a pump, you don't want it to run dry or it will lock up
and possibily damage the transmission casing so what most do is to
loop a piece of hose between the two connections
and fill it with power steering fluid..

Wow thanks on that one- never would of even had the slightest clue it was a pump. Almost thought i was fuct* cuz im not running power steering but good call on the loop, makes me feel better. as far as the cable.......... can i reuse the one on my car. and what is it again
its just called a speedo cable. it goes through the firewall to the back of your gauge cluster. your stock cable will plug into the b16 vss. just remove the cut piece of cable, you don't need it.
