Best Shocks for slammed 96?
I'm asking this question for my friend who has a 96 4 door Accord and has it slammed on some ghetto *** coil-overs. His stock shocks died a while ago and he wants to order new ones ASAP. So what is the best shock for a 2.5"(+/-) drop? And yes i will try to convince him to splurge on some G/Cs.
So far I've looked at Koni/Tokico/KYB. Which would be the best and somewhat cheap (Koni yellows are damn expensive and he doesn't Auto X)
Thanks

Just kidding... normally I unnecassarily pressure people towards Koni Yellows and then tell them since they have the shocks they should give autocrossing a try... but in his case KYB's will offer the best handling for the money... you just don't get the versatility of the Koni's.
if it is really "slammed" he will end up with blown shocks. The agxs are great and my car is lowered a little more than two inches, any more and you will need custom revalved and shortened koni yellows.
agx's are more suitable for a 'sport drop' like prokit or neuspeed sport,
koni yellows are great for any kind of drop, and tend to work better with stiffer springs like h&r race or sportlines.
btw i have koni yellow shocks and i absolutely love them, they're stiff but GOOD.

I'm tryin to talk him into some G/Cs cuz I think his coilovers are def. a problem. The main problem is that he insists on driving with the wheels completely tucked under the fender. that being said what is the lowest he can go on the KYBs and not have a problem? Thanks for the help.
PS-another reason he doesn't AutoX------F22 engine. Maybe if he drops in an H22 someday.

KYB and Koni are the ones I recommend. KYB most since I have experience with them, and am very pleased.
