S2000 oil filters now made by Filtech?
It’s been a while since I’ve posted on HT but I need your help! I’m doing a timing belt job on my sisters car and also an oil change among other things. When I had my track toy 92-GSR I always used S2000 “Toyo Roki” oil filters since they are similar or in fact the same as the HAMP filters which have a better construction and metal relief valve.
I went to my local dealership and asked for an s2k filter and to my surprise it was made by filtech. Does anyone know if these filtech s2k filters have the same quality construction as the Toyo Roki version. That really bites if Honda has quit bringing Toyo Roki filters to the US….
Also I did a bit of searching and found this:
https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-2001-2005-78/diy-oil-change-pictures-2181003/
^They show the inside of a honda filtech filter in this thread, but was it worth it to drop $16.75 on the s2k filtech version is the true question...?
Thanks,
-Eric

That may be a big clue, I didn't specify a year when I told the parts guy. I just remember the dealership I had my race account at Honda of Kirkland always had Toyo Roki filters for me when I picked stuff up from them.
This is the filter developed especially for the S2000 from Honda
