Squealing noise. Distributor?
My Si recently started making a noise in the engine bay. Sounded like a belt at first, but it seems to be coming from the distributor. Bearings? This is my daily driver. How detrimental could this be to my engine if the dizzy fails? Looking for the cheapest solution, because I'm a poor SOB.
Bummer. Your distributor bearings are toast. The problem is that your distributor bearings might go tomorrow or in a few months.
Get yourself a new distributor asap. You need a td02u or td18u distributor. Check ebay and distributor king. I don't recommend getting a used one since this is a common issue.

Hey, thanks a lot man. The squealing noise sounded like bearings to me. My understanding of a distributor is basically nonexistent, so I guess that will be what I research next. I'm hoping I'll be lucky for a few days. The heat doesn't work in my prelude right now, and I'm broke till payday.
