i have a 92 teg ls turbocharged. Yesterday on my way home from work she jumped from 2k-3k rpm and the motor basically quit running everything electrical still worked. brakes, steering, lights, seatbelts... two lights popped up on the dash oil and battery light. (i checked oil and battery cables everything was normal) i eliminated the possibility of it being the timing belt but i have a few more options. My main fuel relay had been acting up a few weeks before but really hadnt done anything lately tho i dont hear the fuel pump kicking it.. it could also be the fuel pump since its still a stock pump and could have been strained from the dsm injectors i have.. i also checked the plugs and distributor for spark and wasnt gettin anything so it could be either of the above or.. it could be a bad coil pack.. is there anyway to test this items separately so i can find the problem with out buyin a bunch of different items i might not need?

 

Check your fuel pressure at the fuel filter by loosing the 12mm bolt a little bit. Turn the key to the on position. Have a friend watch for fuel leaking out. Did you check for spark at the plug? If you battery and oil light came on, its because your engine was not running. If these light come on while its running then you have a problem.

 

i checked the plugs at the wire grammet thingy.. lol took one off and put a screw driver in it and ground it to the block had my friend try the ignition and nothing ill try the fuel pressure thing tho thanks

 

ok so if the fuel isnt leakin out would it be the pump or the relay?

 

If u aren't get spark and fuel there is a fuse inside on the kick panel. I think it was a 15 blue fuse. Happened to me awhile back took 2 months before I finnally realized that I didn't check the fuses.

 

hm wish i had seen this before i had her towed to the shop.. haha on the way there my heart stopped i couldnt remember if i had gas or not..(luckily i did) maybe i'll be lucky and it will be somethin as simple as a fuse
