Has anyone else come across this failure? My GSR has 135,000 on it.
I'm planning on ordering a new one next week.

 

yeah my stock dizzy did that as well ironically around the same time. had this stinky red dust all over the cap. completely seized up.

 

Some interesting information about OEM Distributors.

 

I just got a new (aftermarket) distributor assembly from www.am-autoparts.com for about $135, for an '00 GSR with 165,000 miles. Seems to work great, and a whole lot cheaper than the dealer one, or even the reman. ones at Autozone. It's made in Taiwan, but looks exactly like stock. Arrived in two days too.

Not affiliated, just a satisfied customer.

 

I picked a new OEM distributor housing today. $300 and I have to move parts over from mine.
