Default Blue smoke after overhaul!

My friend just got his H22 overhauled, new rings, bearings and re-honed, that's about it, I think they did some P&P as well, but there's blue smoke coming out of the exhaust so what could it be?

Valve stem seals, they are usually the culprit, he might have wasted money on doing that bottom end work...

That's what I thought, I told him but the dumass keeps saying it just needs the valves adjusted, he's one of those guys who thinks he knows everything.

well if he "knows everything" tell him to open a Chiltons or Haynes manual and look up smoking and he will see where it tells you the discription of the colors and what each one means

My guess: Builder screwed up the FRM......getting massive blowby.
2nd guess would be the stem seals.......
I just find #1 to be easier to blame....

My guess.... Do a leakdown test.

Leakdown will test all possibilities except for the valve seals, so if everything is good, it's your valve seals, but if it's not the valve seals, the leakdown will tell you.
