Default AEM CAI rubbing.....how to minimize it

I have tried countless materials in between my AC lines and my intake but the rubbing noises do not seem to go away.......anyone have any ideas on the best way to eliminate rubbing.......

Try adjusting the mount? Raise it higher?

Yes, zip-tie the AC lines together. Should give you enough room.

Id try duct tape or a piece of rubber/foam between the pipe and any metal. I used to have an AEM CAI and had the same rubbing issues.

Remove the air conditioning system. No more pesky lines to molest your intake.

Just get some muscles and push the lines away from it. its clean, simple and works fine.

Ditch the AEM and get a Comptech Icebox.

I only have rubbing problems with the reservior tank, the ac line rests about 3 inches above the intake pipe. Everything i put inbetween the pipe and the tank ends up with a hole in it

If installed properly, it should not rub. However, it might come very close. What seems like a small gap may actually be a rubbing point. You have to keep in mind that the thing will vibrate, move around, etc. because it is on rubber mounts.

I use velcro pads (the furry side because I wanted my engine bay to rub against something soft if it were to) on my AEM. It seems to work just fine. I suppose the rough pointy side would work as well (might cause scratches in the long run). Watch out for the coolant reservoir. I also had some rubbing at that point. It was quickly remedied by unbolting the reservior mount, pushing it away from the trouble zone and tightening everything back up.

Mine did that because it was not properly seated on the throttle body. Doublecheck that area. It should clear the overflow tank.

I gently forced the lines out of the way and zip tied them together + I put heat tape on the CAI, no more problem. I also had rubbing with cooling hoses (the ones that are insulated more toward the back of the engine bay) I repositionned the CAI properly to solve that problem.

Yep, just get a piece of 1" diameter heater hose, cut to a length of about 2", then cut it down the middle like you're gutting it, wrap around the a/c lines, secure with zip ties and you're all set.

I stuck a piece of cardboard between them, it wedges in there nicely and it'll protect the rubbing.

I used to have a peice of rubber hose in between them but it ate at my intake a little bit. Nothing much, just some scuffs.
