Default GSR Rev Issue

I have an eg hatch with obd2 gsr swap. I just recently took off the turbo kit it had and got the ecu (p72) chipped to run the stock injectors. They set the rev limit at 8500. Redline for this engine is 8000 rpms but I guess the ecu doesn't know that. I reved it up to about 7500 and the check engine light flashed on but went off as soon as I dropped the revs. Is this normal?

your "chipped" ecu probably has the cel shift light enabled. so no big deal. if you dont' want that either get it removed by reburning the chip or use a stock ecu with no chip.
