89 si with a B20A5
hey guys, my dad and ive owned this car for about 17 years now and shes in mint condition -- got 125 k, and this is the first winter shes seen
we are moving on to newer cars and my sisters driving this one for this winter then shes moving on to a M3 ( where all pretty mechanically inclined )
more or less we love the car but the darn thing cant even hold the cruise control on the highway if your going up a hill,, anyone whose ever owned this car and engine know its WORTHLESS when it comes to power
none the less,, ive been reciently getting into some turbo technology,, just picked up a mitsu gsx and like the way 12 ilbs of boost reacts to a 4 cyl
id like to strap a turbo or supercharger to this motor,,, id like recomendations please from anyone whose done something similar to this motor
1) which one -- turbo or supercharger,, i want 3rd 4th and 5th to not be so darn gutless
2) im guessing turbo because superchargers are more for bottom end, so can i just grab a t25 set up from a gst or gsx mitsu?
can the manifold bolt right up?
i know ill need a boost controler, bov, and all the necessary set ups, and i do realize with the compression ratio im going to run around 7ilbs of boost
with that boost do i need larger injectors?
do i need a bigger fuel pump
what else do i need?
3) what turbo set up do you recomend? im trying to keep it cheap guys, dont want to spend more then 400 or so -- less if i can
thanks for the input in advance
ps im not putting another motor in so please dont advise that -- i know the motor is no better then a boat anchor when it comes to the power of a vtec h22 or b18, but its reliable and runs well
This is what my fathers basic questions are
I have a honda prelude 89 SI. I would like to enhance the "power" of the car in the higher gears. Should I turbo charge or super charge the engine? Are there any kits that are commercially available? Does anyone have any experience with that engine and car? It is a B20A5.
