b16 Vortech SuperCharger (Owner's Thread)
did not make much power, turbo is much better and less expensive
air temp sensor goes in plastic pipe prior to the blower, you need to extend the wiring
there is no hose going to the map sensor check valve

oh okay. If you still have pics of the set up, you mind sending me it? thanks

vortech is basically a poorly sized belt driven turbo that makes peak power at peak rpm. thats the downfall of that kit. the jackson being a pdb, isnt as bad.
a properly sized turbo will outperform the vortech by a lot.
it isnt a bad kit. just not a very effecient one.

my BOV worked fine, it actually should be open when at idle, since the blower makes boost at idle. get a new BOV if yours isnt working
2. Is true that is risky to run a aftercool intake box if I don't do my internals? A friend said that I can blow my internal is I don't.
3. Do I really need to install the Vortech FMU? I'm just asking because mine is messing a few parts. Smog shop told me that I should be find upgrading the stock fuel pump to Wabro 255.
4. What gauges do you recommend getting?
ok..ama answer to the best of my knowledge.
1.any vacuum line that detects boost can be used to signal the blow off..
2. i dont really understand the question..but a after cooler (water to air) acts like a inter-cooler. it cools the air before it goes into the intake manifold.depending on boost level a after cooler is needed to help lower chances of detonation...regardless of built or stock engine anything above 10 psi with out proper cooling will blow your engine..if you are running 7 psi you would be safe but higher than that i recommend you get a after cooler.
3.yes u need to..fmu raises the fuel pressure as u boost more..with out it you will blow your moto...the only way you could remove it is if u install something to help control the fuel.management or a super fc or something.. and yes u need to upgrade your stock fuel pump.
4.its up to you.. i just put in a boost and oil pressure gauge
rem get your engine tune or else the car would never run right...
