Icon2 98 Hatch with OBD need Air temp sensor?

My 98 hatch has a Type R swap in it with a chipped P28 and OBDII to OBDI conversion, I noticed when putting my AEM intake on that it doesn't have the air temp sensor anywhere? Do the OBDI ECU's need this?

yes they do. its probably on the intake manifold as such b-series motors. the D series has it in the intake pipe.

The air temp sensor on the ITR intake manifold is on the runner for cyl #2 below the throttle cable bracket, white in color.
