ep3 vs. dc5 seat rails
Does anyone have experience with swapping out the EP3 rails for a lower driver seating position rail that fits the stock seats. ie: RSX S's, em's, DC5 R's ect. not looking for after market rails

I am not reffering to swapping out the whole seats just the rails from one model/body to another to see if I can acheive a lower seating position with the stock seats.
and I did google for this, most answers I found were several "jdm recaro" rail options, looking for ppl who have tried this or just know what works and their impressions.

I know a couple people that have done a rsx seat swap into the ep3 and none of them said anything about sitting lower.....I know the the top model non si civic had a hight adjustable drivers seat, you may be able to do something with those....I have looked at a set of s2000 seats and those are looooooowwwwwww, no idea on how different the mounting is. hope that helps.

I seriously, seriously, doubt this would work. Your only hope is that 01-05 Civic coupe rails would work on the Ep3 seats and give you a lower position, but I doubt that's going to happen as well.
The RSX/EP3/EM2 chassis were all pretty similar to one another and not one demanded a lower seating position (like the old DelSol/Civic days).
I have a set of driver/passenger DC5 Sparco seat bases that you can have for cheap if you want to do some experimenting.

Without seeing the underside of the seats to see how they bolt up to the rails, it's hard to say. I'm sure anything is possible, so long as you're able/willing to modify an aftermarket seat rail.
Buddy Club makes a "low down" base, you can probably cut/weld this to fit your stock seats.
Why are you trying to lower the seats anyway? Just buy aftermarket.

There are no lower brackets available that will just bolt up to both the floor and the stock seats.
That's the answer to your question, whether you want it to be or not.
If you want something of that sort, you're going to have to have it custom fabricated at a large cost.

^Thanks, I was looking for a definite answer from someone who knows and this seems to be it! sucks but thanks for clarifying..
I dont want to go aftermarket seats or I would just go that route <--- a lot more expensive then what I am trying to do.
I dont feel like hacking up a set of buddy clubs trying to make something work, I was just looking for something simple to acheive a lower seating position.
Thanks all for the replies, I will post up if I figure anything out.
