Default gsr shifter doesnt fit ej1?

I have a gsr shift linkage and shifter and i thought it might fit my 95 ex shift linkage but the linkage opening is too small for the gsr shifter so i had to put my stock back on any suggestions sorry im new to civics.

the gsr linkage would only fit if you had a b16 or b18 swap, if yours is a d16 it wont fit + you will have no better shifting with a gsr shifter if you motor is a d16, no point in swaping them over at all unless your doing a swap

You have to modify the gsr shifter. It's a little wider than the stock civic shifter so you have to cut it down a bit.
