Default Idle roams from 800 to 2200 rpm in 93 Civic ex VTEC 1.6L

Hey guys
My friend has an 93 Honda Civic EX 1.6L VTEC. We are truying to fix this proble that he has been having for atleast couple months. The problem is the idle goes from 800 to 2200 rpm constantly. We changed the AICV and it did nothing. Any ideas, hint are welcome. Thanks

could be the FITV on the bottom of the TB or maybe the idle screw on the TB is screwed out to far if it has been messed with. if it hasn't been messed with, leave it be

check for any vacuum leaks first.

fitv would cause a high idle, not a roaming idle. spray brake parts cleaner all around vaccume line areas and if the idle drops, thats where your leak is.

I just had this problem. All i did was clean my grounds and bled my coolant and it seemed to fix it, though I dont know why because none of those things are known to fix this. Thought it was my IACV or vacuum line.
