k so the deal with it is that all the lights i have on while the car is on will be flashing head lights, tail lights, climate, gauge cluster every thing flashes while the car is on and while driving,but when im pulling up to a red light and come to a complete stop everything lights up good for like 5 seconds and starts doing it again and i don't know if this is right but i think its causing my battery to die i swear i charge my battery like once a week and I bearly bought a new alternator and a battery? please help im new into the car scene

have you done anything to the car lately before it started doing that?? check all grounds.

 

GROUND PROBLEM IT SOUNDS LIKE TO ME.....CHECK ALL YOUR GROUNDS

 

nothing besides change the alternator and the battery it was fine before any of that though and yes i've checked all the grounds Ive got tired of checking them i checked all the battery wires and every thing i took out the sound system i had to see if that was it and nothing and the wierd thing is is that yesterday i unplugged and sensor that when i putting in the alternator i seen wasnt plugged in so i unplugged it and the car was on it wasnt flashing lights at all but when i turned on the corners my stereo turned off and when i turned on the regular lights the rpms dropped to zero ?

 

Are you throwing any CEL's? For all of those things to flicker on and off would almost have to be a connection on the battery, or right after it. Did you make sure the ground had a clean connection where it connects to the car and to the battery? I would check the connections on the battery and immediate connections after the battery.

 

if your battery is dying i would say you have a short that is causing it to draw voltage from the battery even when the car is off. just what it sounds like...i would check the battery terminals or check for wires that are cut or frayed

 

yeah i havent checked all the way down to where the wires from the battery hook up my check engine lights are for my two o2 sensors and a air temp i dont know if that would affect a short

 

faulty alarm system?

 

ive had my alarm for two years and never acted wierd or anything but i did get in a wreck about 2 months and some wires where showing everything looks good(wirng)
