noise from suspension in EM1?
There is a loud noise coming from the rear passenger side of the car. It sounds almost like something is hitting off of my lca. I checked and its not my exhaust. If i had a bushing that was really bad, would it be capable of making a loud clunking noise? Maybe my rear trailing arm bushing is bad or something?
no i didn't, but i think the noise is louder and maybe has more to do with the action of the suspension- i will check that though just in case its hitting on something
Griff has a good point, please explain the sound some more. Is it repititious as the wheel turns? When you said it sounded like something hitting your LCA, I kinda assumed it was when going over bumps, sorry.

When going over bumps or over ramps it makes a clunking noise in the rear (I think on the driver side). It started making that noise after I changed the shocks, I then changed the LCAs and the noise is still there. I double checked that every bolt is torqued to spec.
The wheel has some slight movemente when I wiggle it vertically but cannot replicate it when doing so horizontally. All the bushings seems to be ok.
The noise it's pretty loud and it sounds like it's something bolted to the chasis. I don't have a rear swaybar.
Did someone have a similar issue? Do you have an idea of what could be causing this?

Besides the lower mount screw, and three upper mount screws, there is also the center stud holding the strut assembly together. If not tightened far enough, the strut itself will make noise as it unloads and loads. Just a thought, because I have had this issue. It can be tightened without removing the strut.

Update: I tried tightening those nuts as best as I could but it made no difference. I will probably call the workshop that did the suspension install and let them figure out whats wrong. I will post an update once I find what is causing this issue.
Turns out the noise was the spring being loose and hitting the top of the shock under compression.
