Default trailing arm bushings.

i recently acquired a rear disk swap from a person and i am currently doing the bushings. i got the energy suspension bushings only (red) and i am aware that i must reuse all my metal hardware.

i know that when working with/on bushings that it is helpful to set them in the freezer and allow them to freeze so that they "shrink" so that it will ease in installation.

my question is that now that i have cleaned the sleeves up in the RTA i have placed the bushings in the sleeves but they have been there for three days now and they arent expanding back out to size!?!?????

i did leave the bushings in the freezer for quite a while (months) they are in fact crx bushings and arms, i am just curious about two things....

will the expand back out and when reusing the cross pin are they difficult to place in the center hole so that the arm can be bolted back up?

thanks in advance

The bushings will not shrink more than micrometers. Chances are you bought a CRX bushing for a DA Integra trailing arm.

I recommend Oem or hardrace bushings if you're going to daily this car. Poly bushings can bind

He has a problem with fitment, not material. He also has energy suspension bushings, they do not bind because of the way they are engineered.

the part number matches the crx. looked it up on thier site and is indeed a match. but im sure they are for a rex cause i got them from my brother, he got the bushings for his, never did them, sold the car and landed in my hands...they are barely hanging on the lip and an easily slip in and out of the sleeve in the arm. and i.d. of the sleeve is like 3 3/16ths inches across. from what i have read that is the rex RTA.

You must reuse the O.E. metal collar from the old setup. Do you still have that of the old bushing?

Sell the ones you have and buy ones that match the car that the rear brakes came off of. That's all you need to do.

Call a mechanic! It does sound like it's a 90-93 integra trailing arm.

Have fun with the prop valve, but you were probably after a 40/40 valve.
