DILEMA: Azines tire size??? is 215 too big for 16x7?
Ok, just ordered slipstream 16x7's, and came to the realization that the tire I was hoping to get (Azines) does not come in a 205/45 or even 205/50!! The only 205 size is 205/55! That is WAY to big. That leaves me with the 215/45...is that too big? The car will be about 1-1.5 inches lower than stock. Thanks.
It will be very close to rubbing...with the 215-45/16 on Mugen MF-10's, +43mm offset I had a very slight rub under full lock
The 215/45 16 is the size used by Honda of Japan on the 98+ 16" Type R rims. You may have slight rub at full lock, but you'll be fine overall, assuming you got the correct offset Slipstreams . . .

+40mm offset is what I ordered...I can change it to +45mm if i call soon, otherwise i'll be stuck with the 40mm.
Do you have GS-R rear LCA or ITR rear LCA? I think you might have a problem with rear tires rubbing with 215/45/16 on GS-R suspension setup...

I had slight rubbing on the rear fender lip with 16x7 and +45 offset, and the stock ITR setup. I switched to B6s and with it lowered (~.5) there is no more rubbing. I would go with the +45 offset, I think the +40 will push it out to much, but with that much of a drop you may rub anyways.
What's the offset of the 16" JDM Type R wheels?
I'd think 45mm would be the better bet . . . considering the Type R track is 5mm wider on each side (compared to GSR/LS) . . .

16x7 +50mm offset can fit a 225/40-16
16X7 +43mm offset can fit a 215/45-16
with a 40 mm offset you will still be able to fit a 215 but you might encounter rubbing on the inside of the fender wells or while at full lock.
I have 16x7 Volk SE37K (+42mm offset) on 215/45 Azenis, dropped about 1.75" with TEIN HA, I have no problem at all.
When I first bought the Volks, I had 225/45R16 S-03 front and 205/50R16 S-03 rear. BTW, keep in mind that both sizes are about 3/8" larger in O.D. than the 215/45R16. I had slight rubbing in the front when the steering wheel was at full lock, and slight rubbing in the rear under hard corning.

Sorry to semi-change the subject, but will I have rubbing issues with 205-50-15 G Force Drag Radials on my stock ITR rims? My R is dropped ~1.5"
