Default Ride Quality

hey peeplz, I was just wondering, I have a 94 4 door accord, and i have max speed coilovers on it and tokico struts and the ride is still a little bumpy. with this setup is it SUPPOSED to ride bumpy, or do you think it was installed wrong or something? is there anything i can do to improve it? thanks for the help!

welcome to owning low rent coilovers

I had some simular ones on my Accord for a whopping 2 days. I took them off, sold them on ebay and put my Neuspeeds back on.

it may seem bouncy because the tokico's are not stiff enough dampers for the springs... but that is speculation.

ground control/koni yellows is the standard around here.

other suggestions: skunk 2's (higher spring rates than normal GC's)

that was what i figured on my ghetto coilover setup.. I also use Tokiko.. (blues) and they just dont have the rebound for that abuse. They ride just like stock on my sports though which makes me

whatever, someday i'll become rich rich rich and own Teins!!

man that sucks, when i bought the max speeds i wasn't even thinking about it. U know what sucks even more is that before the max speeds, i had some skunk 2s on it, but i took them off, cuz I guess somehow the threading got warped and bent on it, and i cant adjust them anymore. Actually..two of them are still good, it was only the back ones that got messed up. U think i could put the skunk 2s in the front, and leave the maxspeeds in the back? Or is there a way to fix the threading? or should i just say "eff" everything and sell the max speeds and attempt to sell the skunk 2s and buy a new set of good quality ones? haha..this sux man

there's nothing wrong with the maxspeeds per say... just buy some better shocks. or get a normal set of springs.

here my opinion ... and i'm sure everyone has one on this subject

99% of the shockcondom coilovers out there are just plain trash. I have coilovers on my Mustang, but they were designed specifically to fit the Koni yellows for my car just like greensleepers Teins etc (except those are threaded bodies).

the big problem i saw on my 3 dollar coilovers was the huge threaded body using 3 setscrews to keep it centered.. thats just ghetto IMO. Not to mention the spring rate on those cheapies is god knows what.. i doubt they even know since its all repackaged

edit:

as you can see this is techincally a shockcondom kit my Maximum Motorsports, but notice how it was deigned to fit snugly and not to mention i ordered the specific rate springs i wanted.
