Default Noob question: D15B1 to OBDII, is it possible?

I've been searching around for the past hour or so trying to find some information on this and can't seem to find an answer either way.

Basically I just want to know if it's possible to convert D15B1 to OBD2. I'm supposedly getting a ScanGaugeII for Christmas which only works on OBD2 cars. I didn't know this before I bought the EF I just bought and I'm wondering if there's any hope of being able to hook the ScanGaugeII up to the stock motor on it or if I'll just have to hold onto it until I do a motor swap down the road.

From what I've found it appears possible to go to OBD1 but I've found nothing on going to OBD2.

Also, if anyone is familiar with the ScanGaugeII, might it be possible to hook it up to OBD0/1 if it's not possible to get the motor to OBD2?

there isn't a snowballs chance in hell you'll be able to use this scanner. even if you converted to obd2 and had an obd2 engine in your car, there is still no port to hook up the scanner.

Ok...but couldn't I just hook one up? I'm not all that familiar with what makes a car "OBDII" other than it's something to do with the emissions, but if it's the ECU, I would think wiring the port up wouldn't be terribly hard...

It's a pain in the *** to do what you are asking, it would be easier and cheaper in the end to politely ask for the receipt so you may exchange the scanner for something else.

Ok, that's all I wanted to know then. I'll probably just re-sell it to a friend or hold onto it in the off chance I get another car sometime that is OBDII.

Thanks everyone for the help!
