HELP: How can i apply gear oil into manual transmission?
I own a Civic Si, want to find out how i can change the gear oil in my transmission. I know it has to be drained out first? and then what kinda tool would i need to put in the new oil or whatnot. If anyone knows anything about this please give advice and ideas thx!
3/8" ratchet (for the drain plug) and a 17mm wrench or socket (for the fill plug). Wrench will work better. Then you'll need a long plastic hose/straw with a funnel or connector to the oil container to fill the fluid back in.
And don't use 'gear oil'. Use 5w30 or 10w30 engine oil or manual transmission fluid. Put in just shy of 2 quarts with the car level on the ground.

the easiest way to get the oil in the trans is to remove the speed sensor and put your funnel there
then just add oil til it comes out of the 17mm fill plug

on any transmission, be it D OR B or F(not so sure bout k), the drain/fill bolts will be on the pass side. and(when looking at the cv axle dead on from pass side) the drain bolt will be at 7 o'clock, and the fill bolt we be at the 10 o'clock position. drain bolt will be a 3/8 ratchet to open, and the fill plug will be a 17mm socket with an extension or a breaker bar/impact gun
