450/500 gc's with koni yellows.
for a street/drag car mainly drag racing but with a little commute.
i dont mind the stiffness of the ride at all but i dont want the car to be dangerous to drive or hard to handle. just want a good setup for the track and still be able to drive the car home fine. car is a eg thats gonna be at stock ride height and using 22/8 slicks all motor.
any info would be appreciated.. also if u know a link that can answer my question shoot it to me cause i havent found a good answer yet so far.
thanx.

You'll be fine with those rates. Just don't put a monster rear ARB on it, or allow friends to drive it without some form of warning that the car will/could have lift throttle oversteer (probably, depending on tires, alignment, etc...).
You should be fine.
Way back in the days when I used to DD/drag,I ran 350front 250rear on koni yellow, when I got to the track and bolted the slicks on,I would swap the rear springs real quick for some 1000s for launching. Then swap back the soft rear and drive home with a smooth ride while I enjoyed gandering at my timeslips.

thanx for the info!
can u explain a little bit on lift throttle oversteer not familiar with this? tires are gonna be 195/50/15 falken zeix 912 for daily and no one is gonna be driven the car but me... also if a lower spring rate would make it more safe to drive that would be kool too.
let me know thanx for ur help.

A differential also affects this oversteer,a stock diff will rotate more than a solid spool,as both wheels turn at equal rates on a spool.A stock diff allow both wheels to turn a different speeds allowing a "tighter circle" to be driven.
At the strip you should be fine to learn to get comfortable on this setup because you wont have any sudden steering inputs as you would/could on the civilian roads.
The trick I did swapping to stiff springs at the track was super safe and effective.
The main concept is weight transfer, when you accel the car tilts back, when you brake the car tils forward. If you are too soft in front and/or too stiff in rear, when you lift the throttle with some steering input you get lots of weight transfer to the front, you will get loose or unstable and can/will spin. This is dangerous for someone who has little seat time or not enough experience driving a setup like that.
It isn't that problematic, unless you weren't expecting it (such as if you had to make an emergency maneuver while driving someone else's car).
The only issue with this is changes to the rear toe from the ride height change swapping spring rates will produce. Not a huge issue though.

Just know what the car will do under what conditions and don't drive like an idiot, and you'll be fine.
