why are accords the #1 most stolen car?
i was watching the news and for this last year the number one stolen car in oregon was a 92 accord... Im just wondering why people would steal them, what they do with them?? and why accords.
I really don't understand it at all.

The primary reason is for parts since its still a very common car and having the parts readily availble keeps money in their pockets. Its a cheaper alternative for mechanics to buy from them than buying parts at full price. Sad but true.
The number uno stolen car this year is the 94 accord...and thats what I drive O_o
why are they the most stolen car?
1:Ricers can't afford them
2:No security
3: Parts
4: Accord's are the Sh**

that doesn't make sense to me though being that eg/dc platforms are way more interchange able and have a much higher demand for parts then accords.
Because most Accords are owned by old people, and thieves know that the chance of a old person running out of their house with a gun when the car alarm goes off is not likely to happen.

These reports vary ALL the damn time, Integras/Civics are usually on top, Accords aren't much more different.
They're easy to steal and plentiful
well the numbers from 05 were Im located were 420 accords, 53 civics, 43 integras and 70 camarys. those were the top cars listed. Im just wondering why in the hell so many accords.
Because civics/intergras are so yesterday hehe
But for real Accords and Camrys are the most popular cars. The're Everywhere. 500 people just don't feel like paying for one

I doubt many of the Accords that are stolen are stripped for parts. Once I walked out the door to head to work and there was a '94 or '95 Accord parked across my driveway idling. The ignition was punched out, so I called the police when they arrived they told me it was likely used in a robbery the previous night.
One of my coworkers also had his '94-'97 Accord stolen and it was found burning in a field. The police also told him it was probably used in robbery or murder. So this makes me think that Accords are easy to steal and inconspicuous, which is the perfect car if you're up to no good.

Bingo.
Although they may not be popular for chop shops etc, a problem that was happening in the East Bay were cars would be stolen, run dry, and then the cat would be removed and sold to unscrupulous muffler shops for 20-40 bucks. The converters are fairly easy to remove on a Honda.

Here in MN, Civics & Tegs are top stolen cars. But this year over at my college campus, Accords are getting stolen every week. So this is to say that Accord stolen percentage are going up.
I bet you didn't even know the CD5 94-97 accord has been number 1 in america more than any car in the world huh? Well look around when your driving. You'll begin to realize how many accords there are out there. For me I cant look anywhere and not see an accord usually. Kind of sick when you think about it
