Default OFF TOPIC::::POSSIBLE car/parts theives caught and arrested::::::

like i said, i am not accusing these guys of stealing, but the Houston Police thought otherwise.......you guys with hot parts better watch how you PRESESNT your cars

http://www.twin-cam.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=767

CLIFF NOTES----HPD hired undercovers to investigate stolen cars/motors.....while at the show, they ran VINs and found that 4 cars were not legit....some were traced to California under Stolen cars......the motors........so you should run your VINs on the engines just to see if it came out of a stolen car

Good for these *****. I know here in hawaii, especially at the import showoffs, that HPD runs a VIN # check on every car. I heard from word of mouth that a couple of owners got their cars impounded.

If you stay legit. No fear.

Now they should run VIN's at the tracks as part of the safety inspection. At least record them with a photocopy of the drivers license and plate numbers.

I agree, but what if you buy that swap thinking its legit. You are now receiving stolen property and thats your car getting towed.

Moral of the story: get legit swaps with all papers
