I remember reading about that, but I do not want to tell you something wrong because my memory isnt to clear. Best bet is to search for mpfi in the crx/ef forum only and read the topics with the most replys.

I think you have to seal it off on the new block, and not use it. But like I said, my memory is blank right now.

Alos there is a fitting that attaches to the VTEC solenoid area. has a seal inside of it where does this go to? also one other fitting attaches below the upper rad hose again where to:

I attached a pic of the two fitttings cercled in red:

One other pic of swap so far.....

it will be a red X for a bit as imagestation is glitching now but the above describves the stuff well.

Is there any site with a detailed install of a d16z6 head setup?

Like a site with a parts list (Water Pump?, Timing Belt?, Headgasket?, etc?)

also whats the compression when using a D16z6 head on a d16a6 block with a stock honda head gasket.

This site has all the info you need .... http://crx.honda-perf.org/articles/z6swap/z6swap.html

Try doing a search on "mini me" this subject has been covered more times than people realize... IMO, ive done this setup and helped a friend do his setup.. it will never run right.. timing is a bitch to get right. I eventually threw the motor out and bought another d16a6 and i love it.. ive been a couple of hatchbacks with the minime.. and they dont pull like my good old d16a.

If your using the crx si block all you have to do is take the a6 oil jet out, thats it.

You have to remove the oil jet out of the block. I've heard that if you don't that Vtec will not activate. The Vtec head already has one internally in it.

I did a mini-me swap using my stock D16a6 bottom end and a D16z6 head and it definitely pulls harder than it did before doing the head swap, especially in the upper rpms. Of course its no B16A, but it definitely made a difference.

you need to remove the oil jet or else you will be pumping oil into the head where they is no where for it to be recieved and that would be a big problem.

that hole in the side of the vtec soleniod is for an oil pressure sensor, for vtec activation (i think..)

Im guessing your running obd0, so you wouldnt need the oil pressure sensor.. the threading on that sensor is very weak, and odd sized bolt can strip it.. so be careful.. I would suggest the full obd-1 conversion so you can run the oil pressure sensor.. theres a reason why honda put it there..
