LS/VTEC info/feedback?
i have been reading up on this... and it seems kind of unreliable. But i have found a way to make a reliable set up out of it... is it worth doing... the engine is b18a1 block with jdm type R pistons and b16a2 head i am getting for 850, there are a few parts missing from the head. .. i was going to get some more parts and different other parts. lol. im so vague... is it worth doing? i would also have to get a new trans. The guy im getting the engine from says his friend has a few trans to sell me. all in all it will prolly end up costing in the end like... alot of money. lol.
im putting this in my 93 ex coupe which currently is running d16z6 vtec sohc with no real upgrades... what u guys think?
ps... i had a real specific question i was gonna ask about this but I totally forgot what it was lol. keep posting and ill think of it maybe.

my D16 is getting 125, the ls vtec is gonna up that to 170 ish. give or take. the D boosted as i have searched and found with turbo can give like 250 ~ 300 hp and i know a guy who had ls/vtec pushin bout 412 out of it. not sure all what he used. my d16 is annoying and leaky and just plain not for me. lol.
you will not want to boost a ls/vtec with jdm type r pistons. you will have very high compression and that sucks for boost. you would be better off boosting the d16. Now if you plan on boosting the ls/vtec the stock ls pistons would be good. i would put in some arp rod studs the stock rod bolts are known to break
