Question before buying a Auto/Tiptronic 5th Gen Lude
The car is a 1998. 2nd owner. 148+k
My really main concern was, he stated that, "when you move the shifter into tiptronic mode, it will cause the check engine light to go on because there is a short or voltage problem in the transmission shifter. This does not affect driving in tiptronic mode at all or the other driving modes (d4, d3, d2, d1, reverse, neutral, and park). The tiptronic does not affect the cars performance in anyway as it is just a voltage problem."
Now what does this mean when the check engine light only come on when putted in tiptronic mode but doesnt has any slipping and whatknot? Can it be a sensor or should I stay away from this car?
I've owned a 2000 Lude before and never had this problem. It was also a auto/tiptronic, took it up to 160+k without a single problem. But mine was babied.
