Default door panels 88-91

okay i know that 88/89 door panels are different to the 90/91 models because of the door mounted seatbelts. I was just wondering though if door panels overall are the same size? For example, i would like to get some jdm door panels but i would want to take the upper part off for my 91 door panel will it directly bolt on? Or it's different in size and ****?
Thanks
Danny

If you get JDM door panels, you will lose your seatbelts (think about it for a second). You can't keep your current seatbelts and use JDM door panels, you will have to convert to pillar mounted belts or get some harnesses.

I suppose if you got the JDM door panels you could hack them up so the door seatbelt stuff would fit behind it, but that would be nasty, and you'd be better off with the original door panels.

yeah i know all that
but i was wondering taking the top part of the jdm door panel and putting it onto my 91 door panel..i was wondering if it's a direct fit.
That is why i want to do this because i dn't want to do the conversion of the doors and blah blah blah you kno

so in other words you're gonna cut each panel in half and put them back together? Good luck with that...for the record I think that's a terrible idea.

the bottoms arent shaped the same either. wouldnt work. the channel along the outside would look funky and creat an opening.

well this was an idea because i have power windows and i didn't want to cut my panels and rather have the jdm look but in a cheap way rather than converting doors because that **** is expensive now a days. Also i would of liked to have the jdm upper part because it's black, to match the bottom, and it already has the spot to put on the jdm power switches.
well **** it. it was just an idea.
thanks for the help.

it wont work, because of where the seat belt exits on the top of the door panel. just extend the current spot where the power window switches go, if you haven't already done it. its been working fine for my LHD power windows
