Default Msd Blaster SS Coil

Ok well i just purchased http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MSD-8207/, and i was wondering if i have to have a msd ignition box to use this properly. The only reason i bought a new one is my stock one is cracked and this is much cheaper, and more effective. Also if you know where a write up is on installing this part that would be awesome. Also what about a Resistor, a msd tech told me no, but the paper included is telling me otherwise.
Thanks,
Ian

I'm currently running the Blaster 2 external coil without the MSD 6 AL box. As for the wiring, I'd have to look at my car to tell you the wire match-ups and the car's sleeping right now, but I'm sure you could find it with a little bit of searching.

As for the resistor, I am not running one, and havn't been for 2 years now, without boost and with boost and no issues whatsoever.

Thanks for the help spoolin, if you have a chance to look at your wiring and can update me it would be much appreciated. Thanks

A little update spoolin, me and my friend hooked up the coil and my ignition control module fried i guess it was replaced, stock coil put back on and then the tach quit working. So i accomplished nothing but a broken tach.

Hmm, weird. I remember putting 2 wires together and the other alone, as for the colours, like previously stating, cars away for the winter...

I did this mod right after the JDM H22a swap 2 years ago, so my memories a little faded to every step I did.

Sorry dude...

im also running a blaster external coil. Umm no resistor. I still have my stock honda coil plug in there i just connected the msd wires using flat male flat connectorsand plugged them into the stock harness for the coil. I did this so if the blaster coil quits it will be easy to just slap the old coil in and go. If you need a picture i could prolly get one let me know. Have been runnin this system for like 3 years no problem.

Pretty good idea! Saves from re-soldering if something goes wrong.
