Possible DA build for surprise graduation present for my brother need parts help
So i might be picking up a 91 white DA coupe, for around 500 bucks, intact windshield and glass, clean interior. This is going to be a surprise gift for my brother for his graduation, from me and my dad prolly. I am going to be on a major budget. of maybe 1,500 dollars. altogether.
anyway i have a wrecked 95 ls with 157, miles on the b18b1 with short ram intake.
First question.
--what i am wanting too do is swap the b18b for the b18a. My question is will the engine swap right in no issues and the b18a wiring harness hook right up and will the ecu that runs the b18a run the b18b no issues, i would be using the cable tranny because my 95 ls was an automatic, the DA is a stick.
Second question
-- are all B series clutches interchangeable, does it matter if its a hydro tranny or a cable tranny, will a b16a clutch work, or a 94-01 b series clutch. What clutch will i need, and i am looking into the ACT 6 puck with flywheel and pressure plate is this a good choice, and we my brother be happy with it.?
parts i am looking to add to at least make it decent, alot of ebay parts prolly. as i am not a brand name guy at all.
the parts i am looking to put on the car.
-black housing one piece headlights. 100$
-headers, and catback exhaust 300$
-amber bumper lights 5.00$
-short shifter, red stitch shift boot 20$
- ebay abs plastic lip 80$
-act five puck clutch, and lightweight flywheel 600$
-car 500$
total:1600$.. lol
so i need help with the engine swap, and if people could link me to cheap non gay stock DA looking exhausts, and maybe some decently priced lips.
And any other suggestions to making a DA look clean would be appreciated. If anyone knows of any killer deals, or has parts they are willing to let go for cheap for this builf i would be gratefull.
--My brother has a 95 nissan maxima right now with a wrecked fender, shot shocks and springs, shitty tires that leak, and the injectors and coilpacks need replaced. We just swapped a newer engine in it less than a year ago and the injectors and coil packs are more than the car and what the newer engine cost. I would rather just get him into the honda family and be done with headaches.

You could get a lot of this information with a search, and if nobody responds to your thread you can just say 'bump.' Otherwise you'll come off as pissy and nobody will want to help you. I believe all b-series trannies are interchangeable, which means that clutches are as well. There's no way your brother needs that act 6-puck -- just get an Exedy OEM or Stg 1 instead and save the $$ for the custom exhaust you'll need. There are some other things that don't bolt straight up between the two cars.
I'd search the net for threads about swapping B18B/C into DAs because there are plenty of people who have done it before.

That DA you have is OBD0 your B18B is OBD1 so you will need to pull the entire harness out of your DC or get a jumper. Or you could take all the stuff off of your B18A (IM injectors, Dizzy, Basically everything but the head/bottom end) and put it on the B18B.
I'm pretty sure you can use that A1 tranny as lots of people put the B18B in their DA and im sure there is lots of info on this try searching around.
As for the clutch I think you just need to get out for w/e tranny you are using. But I could be wrong hopefully someone els will chime in on this and that 6 puck is going to be pretty stiff so its all about what he will like, im guessing that maxima is and auto so going form that to a rock hard clutch might be a lil stiff.

So i did some looking in the FAQ section couldnt find anything on the engine swap, i will prolly just use a DC harness, that will more than likely be the easiest thing to do, or use a obd1 jumper harness and do it that way. Apparently this wont be to hard either way.
And yeah i will prolly just get a exedy stage 1 clutch, and pressure plate. They go for arounf 290.00$ and then just get a fidanza 7lb light wieght fly wheel.
