4th gen's w/ b16s move out pretty good. I had one in my crx, then went with d16z6 with a turbo, im actually going back to the b16 in a couple weeks. Mostly cause the b16 is so much fun to drive...the sohc w boost was a second faster in the 1/4 mile too. Seeing that you had a C5 in one of your older cars, you might want to consider a b18c1 too come close to an ITR powerplant. I'd definately recommend the b16a. As for problems...wiring dx to sir is a pain. Worrying about ordering a bad JDM engine is my biggest stress.

Actually my CRX is an Si... Im still figuring out a way that i can personally check if the motor runs before i actually do the install... I've done some swaps for my friends but never on a 4th gen... But that was when i had plenty of time on my hands, now its limited... Thats y i dont want to go thru the trouble of installing the motor and find out it doesnt work...

They are quick but most people think they will run low 14's with one and that just isn't to realisitc... you will most likely run high 14's with it unless you do some pretty good mods or at least a few bolt ons, make sure you prep it before you drop it back in.

i would do a leakdown and compression test on the motor. beyond that i don't really know what else to do.

if i had a chance to do it all over again, i would change everything out. i'm talking about timing belt, water pump, thermostat (not that hard to change when it's in but still it would be easier), and the little things. But mainly the timing belt and water pump. but i would recommend getting a header that doesnt sit too low to the ground. I have 4:1 DC's and they scrape everywhere.

lets put it this way..
when i first saw a b16 in a HB (wich was my cousins a few years back) and with just intake and exhaust, he managed to run a 15.1 outta the box....... with some other mods he managed to get 14.8... wich its great.......
