Just moved battery to the trunk and my car won't start need help asap
I just moved my battery to the trunk. All my lights and stuff work but my car will not start. I don't have an inline fuse yet. my battery is still good. I have no idea what the problem could be. I gotta work at 9 tomorrow so i need help asap.
PLEASE tell me you have 2 +12V's going up front. one to the CAR (power distribution box under the hood) and one to the STARTER. This almost sounds like you didnt run a +12 to the starter LOL.
I've had mine in the trunk for years now... only thing I can offer past what I've said is make sure you have a good ground to the chassis.
Do you experience any current draw when you click over to start??? Any clicks??? more info.

what size wire did you run?
and you dont have to have 2 +12V wires going up front, just a big enough wire.
and if you dont want to run a big wire up front you can always dish out some money and get a capacitor to put up front.

i reccomend 2 wires
.. just my preference and how i did it on my Mustang and Accord. I use thin stranded 4G welding cable with 60amp ANL fuses on both. I'm sure everyone has their own opinion of how it should be.
I just noticed you didnt FUSE it.. good god man!!! What if a wire rubs through to chassis?!

i did mine at one time with 1/0 awg, but have since removed the bigger wire and now use only 4 awg. starts fine, all preference.
Accord15: please put a fuse on your wire.for safety.

weight distribution.
the only reason for putting the battery in the trunk is to make more space in the engine bay.
i moved mine back on the Accord there for my old A/V system (yes yes haha) ... its stayed there since. but yah basically the premise is weight distribution for cornering etc.. always put it opposite of the driver. and yah my battery is heaaaavy too.. Optima redtop. moving it back there was cheaper than buying 30ft of 0 guage!

and yah i cleaned all that up, but never took pics again before i got a clue and sold all that ****.

A single 2-gauge line and 60 amp fuse on the battery box (imperative to avoid disaster) has worked fine for me.
If your other electricals are working you surely have a closed circuit. Only reason for car not turning over I can think of is not heavy enough cable (either hot or ground) to carry starter juice.

I will run through my steps. i ran a two gauge lead wire to the starter. I tried cutting the wire to the fuse box and joining it at the same place for some reason which of course didn't work. So i went out today and got 4 gauge wire and ran a seperate wire to the fuse box. I got a marine battery for free so it also has the wingnuts on it which is where the 4 gauge is hooked up to. Even after all this the car still does not start, doesn't even click i don't know what the hell is going on but it is driving me crazy. Also the ground is run under the car and is hooked up to one of the bolts on the tow loop. I sanded the crap out of it everwhere. I have no idea what is wrong but i need to figure it out asap. Thanks for the help
you might have blown one or more fuses... check main relay...etc...
1/0 gauge summit kit to trunk, for weight... and need room for turbo stuff
also 0.5 farad cap + 100 amp inline fuse

are serious? the battery only weighs like 10 pounds.

its probobly the moroso box he has.
i agree with you though, i also have this bolted to the rear deck. my rear deck is a piece of .5" plywood from when i had that huge box in there... i trust the box far as i can throw it.. which isnt far
i'll put that on my list to-do this winter when the car's under the knife.

i went inside... out the grommet/plug (on the 4th gens anyway) near the ECU. my fuses are about 18" away in the right rear shock tower.
maybe they got rid of it, but on the 90-93's there is a hole with a rubber plug in it by the ecu/tranny controller (you have to pull back the carpet)
Hmm I just worked on this area so why not take some pictures and show off my handiwork?
This is the blue box, the moroso I got from http://www.summitracing.com. As you can see it bolts on the top with a large brace, bolts go through the floor pan to big washers and nuts underneath. It's also vented if you drill the holes. Sorry dial up users.
