weird ef problem/ wtf is this
so i am pretty much re doing the whole interior of my car for now. i ripped up the carpet. cut a few speaker wires. then in my passenger front, underneath the glove box i found some weird thing. sorry for not being really descriptive. uh it about the size of ur hand, and is also connected with something else, about the size of a golf ball. ever since i started up my car after this i hear air or something coming out of it and my car is bogging like crazy.
il get pictures up tomorow. just thought maybe someone had an idea

The ECU? lol. There's a few ducted air pipes that run around behind the glovebox, nothing i can really think of that would cause the car to bog though.
That's so awesome.
I can see your MAP sensor is disconnected... and yes your car will run like a bag of **** without that hooked up.
Basically your ECU uses a graph like Excel, with MAP pressure as the X coordinate and RPM as the Y coordinate and does a simple "X-Y" lookup to figure out what fuel and timing to use.
Looks like you disconnected the part that tells the ECU where in the graph to look for fuel... unsurprising that it's running like crap, more surprising that it's running. You'll also be throwing a MAP code most likely. Either way, that sensor shouldn't be inside the car, it should be mounted to the firewall. Someone's been playing with your wiring, unless you did that yourself.

i didnt do anything lol. i've been throwing out wires that werent needed. il post those as well lol. yeah car isnt running anymore. so. how can i hook it back up? i have a haynes repair manual but like u said, it isnt supposed to be inside so idk what to do
Here is right underneither my ECU. u can see Fuses and wires and shizz. im pretty noob at cars and am still trying to learn. so i dont even know if thats supposed to be there, but u can see where the sensors are.
wow...someone tucked the map sensor inside the car instead of like maybe under the intake mani like i did? lol ..looks like theres a red hose comin off the sensor..does that go into the engine bay?
wow....wire tuck FAIL. that fuse box looks all fudged up. i doesnt even seem to have a cover on it anymore. whats your engine bay look like? do you still have a map sensor on the firewall? cause that one looks like an obd1 type that goes on the throttle body
this is how the vac lines should be ran. the map sensor has a dedicated line that runs to the small nipple at the top of the throttle body. so basically run vac lines into the engine bay and hook everything up as if the purge valve and map sensor were still mounted on the firewall.
The one sitting by itself with a vacuum nipple that's disconnected is the MAP sensor. The big-*** piece of crap with little cannisters and hoses and shizz hanging off it is the PCS or Purge Control Solenoid.
You need to find the vacuum line for the MAP sensor that became disconnected and plug it back in. There'll be a vacuum line dangling in your passenger footwell area that's disconnected - just plug that back into your MAP and you're good to go most likely.

holy crap ive never seen that before. ive heard of tucking stuff under the dash but dang.... atleast you got some help on how to fix it.... but do u have pics of tyhe bay???
The ECU never checks the status of the PCS so you can safely ignore it as long as it stays hooked up.
If you can't find the line in the footwell, start checking the firewall and you'll see where the hoses are run into the passenger area. Either way, it should be hooked up to the intake manifold or throttlebody post-butterfly.

Ok so i found out where the vac line is, and hooked it up. but no change. car still wont turn over. it started for like a second this morning and turned off. so idk what else i could have done....
Pics of Bay

But i also found this on top of the intake mani. is it just an extra?

its an obd1 intake manifold so thats why there is a map there. if your ecu is obd0 then continue to use the map sensor which is currently in ur pass. side footwell. assuming you have the vac lines ran correctly, it should be starting and running just fine now. do you have a cel on? if so what codes are you getting?
