Hello, my 1994 Accord Vtec or engine isnt passing 4500rpm. Its the f22b1 vtec motor. Have a POA-AO1 ecu. There are no check engine codes. What could it be?

 

Oil level?

any cel's?

 

i also changed the oil pressure switch for vtec, no cells, no check engine

 

Mine is having the exact same problem. I'm assuming it has gone into "limp mode" for some reason, but the cel is not on and there are no codes. I've been having this issue since i bought the car and have yet to figure it out.. even brought it into a honda dealer. Any suggestions/advice on this thread would be much appreciated by me as well.

i also resetted the ecu by disconnecting it for 30 mins then putting it back on....bump....any honda experts advice?

 

I'm by no means a Honda expert, but is the temp sensor giving the right readings to the ECM??
All I know is VTec wont engage until the correct operating temp is reached.... and a faulty temp sensor may not throw a CEL??
(although that wouldn't explain the rev limited to 4500rpm)

^^ Your problem is you have a CEL light on, if your other post is anything to go by.... We need your cars year & model details to help you further with that one.

 

temp sensor is brand new....so idk...ecu i used 2 ecus and both same thing...so idk...

 

So you even used two different POA VTEC ECUs?

 

i used a poa, p28 chipped, and a gsr chipped computer
