Default obd II distributor for obd I set up?

Sorry, I don't mean to upset anyone if they have seen this post in either tech or hybrid forum, but just in case someone in this forum knew the answer, I had to try. So I just got my b20 vtec inside my engine bay, just waiting to start but I only have a distributor for a 98 gsr. My car is a 93 civic and the wiring is still for obd I. My question is, can I run that distributor for my engine? How could I make it work if possible? They both have a 2 pin and 8 pin connector. The 2 pin connector have the same wire color match, but the 8 pin connector have different wire colors for the wire harness and the distributor harness. Any help. Thanks

find you an old obd1 distributor off any car.. civic, integra and cut the wire harness.. and color match it to your obd2 distributor. That way, you can run an obd2 distributor, but with obd1 plugs.
Another thing you can do.. kinda hard but not really, is to take apart both distributors, and take the wiring.. and the magnets that go with it off the obd1 distributor housing and put it in the obd2. That way, you dont have to do any wiring, but to do this.. you have to know how to take a distributor completely apart.

also, one more thing, if you are running an ob2 motor.. try running an obd2 wire harness also. The obd2 wire harness clips up perfectly to the obd1 wire harness on the chassis.

Thanks for the info, I'm running obd I harness since I already have all the wiring done, just wasn't sure about the distributor. So I just need to cut the harness for my distrib off my dx motor and match it to the gsr obd II distrib harness? I comparied the harness for the motor and the connector for the distributor and the connectors worked, they match but the wire colors don't. I haven't comparied the gsr obd II distrib harness to my dx so maybe it can work unless I'm just not understanding what your telling me, sorry I just woke up
