Default CTR Pistons in a 1.7 DOHC VTEC

I want to know if this setup is possible to put CTR pistons in a DOHC VTEC 1.7
without any problems? Also, is it possible that the CTR intake cam
and the ITR exhaust cam can be put in without running into any
problems? I just really want to get this motor rebuilt cause there
was so many miles put on it. So I thought about this setup and wonder if it could
give my motor more power.

Thanks,

yeah it is possible to put them in. All B series motors have the same bore except for the b20, its larger.

i think you have to get the rods machined so the pistons will fit. with the stock head you shold yield around 11:to something with those pistons. they would be perfect for a all motor setup. ctr and it cams are mild so i believe they will work without a problem.

Grrr, you suck, nah I just wish I would have used the CTR pistons instead of the "Spoon" ITR pistons that I have. Oh well, but yeah they will totally work in a B17A with the CTR camshafts. Yes you will need to have a machine shop remove 1mm off of each side of the connecting rod on the wrist pin area. For good sake resurface the Block deck and mill the Head just to get clean surfaces, I am paying for it now. I have a small leak in the corner by the bellhousing on the exhaust side of coolant/oil. Grrr, now I have to disassemble and send the Block/Head to the machine shop, I have put 300 miles on my build-up and it has just been sitting there now, I need to get off my *** and take care of it. Check my sig./Bio for a description of my build-up if you want to. Also plan on using 92+ octane and mixing it with 100 octane to get a non detinating mixture with older ECU's. Or just use more fuel, but you'll loose power with too much fuel.

Yes, CTR slugs do work in a B17A block. As in recognition to all the people who replied to your post.

I had this setup in my EG civic back in 99 up till Sept. 2000 when my car got stolen. You'd have to mill about 1-2mm off each side of the B17A rods (or even B16A rods) wrist pin area in order to fit ANY 'R' piston onto it. Here's a small diagram of mine:

A B17A w/CTR pistons and B16A/PR3 head & stock head gasket will yeild you about 11.4 compression ratio...which is perfect for street and track use.
Also, you will NOT have any problems with the use of any Type-R cams, whether it be integra-R or civic-r. Actually with my past B17 setup, I was running a Spoon intake cam and Type-R exh. cam and I didnt have any valve->piston clearance issues at all. Skunk2 Stage 1 cams should work with no problems either.

you'll be fine. Just on hot *** days (like this past weekend in S.CA over 100 degrees) you might wanna retard your timing a bit...
