does anyone know where to get a flywheel shield or scatter shield that meets NIRA regs.

 

STR makes em, so does AC Autotechnic, Call ECPracing, they carry both companys and probaly have what you need in stock, there # is 201-941-3677
I actually need one myself, and have yet to get up there and pick one up, good luck.........

you have to be kidding me $383 dollars for a scatter shield

 

AC Autotechnic goes for around $250 I had no idea that scatter shield are so much money.

 

I got mine from GE. It only cost me around 250 if i remember correctly.

 

I called Golden Eagle and they wouldn't sell me one they sent me to one of there distributors and I got a price of $383 wtf is up with that. I found an AC scatter shield for $230 so I think I'm going to go with that.

NHRA NIRA IDRC rules and regs you need a scatter shield if you run faster than 11.99

I maybe wrong but I believe it is in case the flywheel breaks it will keep it in the trans case instead of it flying all over the track and into the cab of the car

LOL, honda..scatter shield.. how often have you seen a honda explode a clutch or flywheel? Me..never

 

If you have been going to the track as often as I have, you see it happen occasionaly. When that flyweel/clutch give out while spinning at 9000-9500 RPMs, your engine bay/cab turns into a meat grinder. Not to mention the danger of it actually turning into a flying projectile into the stands.

Its not pretty.

I saw and act pressure plate crack and also broke the cover on some guys h22 crx the cover blew thru the trans case and even thru the firewall and hit him in the leg if I remember correctly
