Default Driver side door is not locking?

Hey, I have a 97 Prelude and having trouble with my driver side door. It is not locking from the inside when I press the lock switch. The car does have an alarm. I was wondering if this could be due to the actuators going bad? Thanks.

^ Haha, awesome answer.....

Is it only the driver's side?
-If so, it's either the switch, actuator, or linkage.
-If you can hear it clicking but it doesn't open, it's probably the linkage.
-You can rule out the switch with a continuity tester (on a multimeter).
-If those are both fine... actuator. I'm leaning towards it being this.

If it's both sides, obviously check your fuse first.

mine does the same thing, but I might know why. Just a thought, do you think this could be done on purpose to prevent you from clicking the lock button and unfortunately locking your keys in your car?

It's most likely the switch.

Sorry to bring this back from the dead. The removed the driver side door panel and notice the linkage to the lock switch wouldn't even budge when i flip the switch. In addition, only the passenger side is responsive when turning the switch to unlock.
