not a typical motor swap ? i need some help with...
I have an 03 Civic Hybrid (manual tran) and I am curious to know if anyone has dropped in a regular motor into one. The reason I ask is the battery pack is 2500-3000 and I am pretty sure a used motor is far less than that. If you don't know, the Hybrid doesn't have an alternator as the battery is charged by the battery pack. I could careless about not having the "Hybrids" purpose, but I need to keep the car as it allows me access to HOV lane by myself.
I wouldn't be looking into swapping a "B" or "K" series. I would be happy having the regular Civic motor. So, other than the motor, harness and gauge cluster, what else is needed. When the battery pack is ripped out, that will be left at the dealership so they can dispose of that accordingly.
I asked this in the "tech" section but no one replied. I know this isn't a commonly done thing, but any assistance is greatly appreciated. Merry Christmas to all!

K series might bolt in easy, as it looks the same as the Hybrids 1.3 l for mounting. A 1.7 l d series would require motor mount bracket to be put on the drivers side same as mass production d series 1.7 l.
Everything should bolt in otherwise?

So, if I want to stay with the D series, (want to be as least expensive as possible) other than the motor mount, I am going to assume the following is needed;
motor
ecu
wire harness
gauge cluster
...what else will be needed. The only must have is retaining the AC. Like I originally stated, a battery pack is going to set me back a few grand, I and I am thinking a motor swap might be a fraction of that. Again, thanks in advance.

Im not 100% sure, but you might need a subframe... Im not sure if the 1.3 is different from the 1.7. I know there's a difference between auto and manual but idk if there's a diff between 1.3 and 1.7 subframes. Ur best bet is to pick up a motor and start messing with it to see what exactly will be needed to do this swap.
