Default Swappin out transmissions....quick questions

tomorrow im going to my buddy's shop to swap out my transmission. now here are some questions i have:
- how difficult is it to swap out the trans on a b-swapped crx?
- can i do it with the motor still in?

when i did my swap about 4 years ago we swapped out the motor and trans for a new LSV and transmission, but we pulled it all out. will i run into any difficulty just swapping out the transmission and leaving the motor still intact? or should i just swap it all out?

ive looked at the space, and you might be able to get away with it with both tranny and rear bracket disconnected, but its tight, id rather just pull the motor in 2 hours and put it back in. dropping the front cross member or at least getting the radius rod out of the way will help a lot, it was in the way of my sohc tranny when i did it last year when i first got the car and didnt know **** about the car.

thats what i was looking at. because of the limited space. i was thinking of just pulling the torsion bars and dropping it through there because i have to do most of the same work as swapping the motor. hmmmmmm

Yes it comes out. Tight fit but yes. The radius Rod will get in the way but you can move it slightly to give you room.

I take it that you know how to drop a tranny?

Cool. Go as normal. Knock the ball joints loose, Remove axles from tranny, remove starter (battery and tray) Remove all tranny bolts except the top 2 (remove last) remove clutch cable etc.....

agreed.. just did a b18 swapped crx a month ago, and you just have to unhook the passenger side radius rod at the LCA, and you will have enough room. Don't pull the engine.. its a huge waste of time.
