Icon7 B20-Vtec-Budget Build!! 13.2 psi 381whp

I know i like to see dyno vids and builds so

heres another car we put together.


the client was on a budget but who's not.

here the setup it really simple but proved affective.

Motor-

b20 block / 89mm crank - STOCK SLEEVES
cp pistons / eagle rods
acl bearings
pr3 cylinder head / springs reatainers stock ports
stock IM / TB
01 ITR CAMS

Turbo setup -

cast log manifold
Ebay 35r style turbo .70 cold side / .82 ar 4-bolt outlet.
3" downpipe
Tial 38mm
Ebay front mount
2.5 charge pipes.


Fuel-

E85
PTE 1000CC
Dual walbros
eCtune
GM3bar


heres the dyno video oh yeah this was on 13.2 psi on a dyno dynamics which made 381.2whp so on a dyno jet would equate to about 450+ whp.

I think you are being just a bit optimistic there, the difference is no where near that much. In fact, one test I saw had the dyno dynamics reading 1-2% higher than a dynojet. Either way, it is no where near the 18% that you are claiming. Looks like a very nice setup, I just hate when ppl try to convert dyno numbers, especially exorbitant amounts.

x2 on them numbers .. even with that setup you have.. that thing would never make 450+hp at 13psi haha .. i love how that video says 458whp on a dyno jet.. they even know the exact numbers.. put it on one and tell me how it does.. haha.

i've seen that dyno and its known as the heartbreaker, i'm sure their not trying to say it's excatly doing 458hp, but i wouldn't doubt it's up there.

Here as soon as the passes clear, ima take it to a dyno Jet and see what it puts down...From everyone i hear.... what ever you get on a dyno dtnamics u multiply it by 1.2 im not gonna change anything just slap it on the dyno and do a pull... if its not near 450...its on 13 psi there room to turn up the boost on those stock sleeves and e85. So ill keep everyone posted of when i go up to Seattle and dyno it again.

better yet, take it to the track and see what it traps. honestly i dont see why everyone is freaking out about the whp regardless of the dyno used. if the car is tuned properly then the dyno has done its job. i think the numbers are on par for a 35r at that boost, i do agree that 450 is probably a little bit of an over estimate though. my 30r makes about 390 at 14-15psi so i could see the bigger turbo doing about the same at the slighly lower boost level.

Yeah i agree with you i dont get why everyone talks so much **** the dyno did its job and the car is making plenty of power for that amount of boost and if they dont make 450 on a dyno jet there is plenty of room to turn the boost up and make it have that much power... so quit hating EVERYONE i mean come on 13psi and probably more power than everyone's car thats in the lower valley...

as long as it dont detonate the sleeves would be fine i have faith in tony the tuner. if on the first pull it dont make 450 then we will make it hit. i dont care if im wrong about the 450 ill say **** it i was wrong not ashamed to loose or be wrong. ill even post a befor and after.

if you have a good powerband, & tune. The rest can be proven at the track.

Well i think he is just happy to make the power that he did on such low boost. and yes you are right that what really matters is what happens at the track but some people like to show stuff they did that ended up being something good and that they are proud of... you know what i mean, that is basiclly what i said in my post about my stuff. we just wanted people to see what we did and what we are proud of ... and then everyone started talking **** instead of encouraging... The numbers dont mean **** just like you said... We were just posting the difference in dyno's that we were told. So ya...

being told something is different than reality and the truth. not sure who told you that. and i was just giving my opinion on what itll do on a dynojet. 15% difference just seems like a lot of difference to me. but what do i know. lulz.

either way it makes good power. im not argueing or talking ****. i give it a and to push it harder!

No one in this thread was hating at all, why are you guys so defensive?? Everyone said that the setup was nice, and 380 whp is very very respectable at that boost level. People just said that a 20% estimated difference was a bit optimistic. Show me any hating please.

i have seen a 430whp dynapack car put down 330whp on a mustang dyno.....

either way it seems pretty decent, but why the e85 when pump gas will do the same power easily

no one cared to ask what the compression was on the motor?. One thing i have learned about cars is not to doubt someones setup if you don't know all the details. I've seen alot of high compression turbo setups make well over 450whp at that those boost level and that depends on the size of turbo being used.

that seems pretty far off as well. all dynos will read different. and if you dyno different days the conditions can change drastically too. also, mustang dynos have an sae correction factor so you can change the numbers to just about anything.

you can change a dyno dynamics to read anything you want as well, dont be worried about the #'s as long as your happy and the tune is good

The compression piston my motor has is 9:1 cp pistons. I used e85 cause i can get it right out of the pump where i live plus its safer and i can turn the boost up if i want. $2.75 A gallon is cheaper then $3.05 a gallon of 92 octane here. Plus my car is daily driven to work so it helps.

I don't think my car is a dynoqueen. like tommy says im happy with what it put out. i went from an accord having a f22 to a h22 and from a civic si b16 to this ya im happy!
