Default lucas oil stabilizer in tranny

hey, I put some of lucas oil stabilizer into my engine to raise the viscosity (and sweetness) of my motor oil yesterday and it says on the bottle that it can be put into manual transmissions too.

does anyone do this, have done this, or know if this is bad for the tranny?

If it's going to help the tranny, I will do it. but I don't want to hurt my car in any way.

you should put honda MTF or GM Syncromesh in your tranny. Regular oil does not have the properties to properly take care of the gears. And 5w-20 is too low a viscosity for the tranny anyway.

This is correct. I run syncromesh.

I will try to get some honda mtf. thanks for the words.

any specific oil ratings for a 94 del sol b16a3 (7600rpm redline) with 160k miles on it?

I've been running 5w-20 but it's time for an oil change soon. I've very **** about the maintenance - I change fluids more often than recommended. Tap-water in my radiator? hell no, I use distilled water for that.

the zmax tranny additive works very well. We took apart my old 5.0 tranny and you can see where it penetrated the metal with lubrication. It use to slip a little bit but after the zmax was put in you could tell a difference after about 200 miles

5w-30? I recommend Castrol GTX or Valvoline if your using conventional. Otherwise Castrol Syntec or Mobile One.

I personally run 10w-40, but im built and boosted. And turbos create alot of extra heat, plus Miami is a hot climate.
