Am I right to say that all eg civic hatches were released with black middle and corner grills? Does this mean that any eg civic seen with body coloured corner grills have probably had body damage and a dodgy respray?

 

i think 92-93 cam all black and 94-95 came only black in the middle but dont quote me on that

 

^^^^^ correct. 94-95 had alot of subtle upgrades that 92-93 didnt have

 

yeah my 95 came with the fog covers painted but the middle grill black, its an EX btw.

 

But how come I often see 94 model egs with black corner grills?

 

most likely they were either late model 93's sold in 94, the owner painted them that way, or they were in a wreck and a body shop sprayed them that way.

 

I would say its a big assumption to say ALL 92-93 with body colored fog light covers were once in a wreck.
But i also agree that 92-93 and 94-95 bumpers came different. Also the sedans and coupes had different bumpers
