Are 2.5in CRX/EF Ebay Exhaust truly 2.5in ID? I need just the piping.
I want to know because I'm in the market for at least a 2.5 exhaust (before you bash hold your horses). I plan to use just the piping and mate it to a "real" high-flow muffler. So I'm basically trashing the muffler and tip and using the ebay cat-back as a "pre-bent piping kit".
Most of the exhaust on ebay claim to be T-304 Stainless Steel, so I don't have to worry about rusting. I can get a 2.5in SS ebay cat-back for like $150 shipped. VRS (http://www.vrsexhaust.com/TUBING_KIT.../honda_tk.html) sells their 2.5 SS piping kits for $175+shipping. So I'm saving there. Most local muffler shops don't mandrel bend pipping around me or use SS for exhausts, so I can't get a nice mandrel bent exhaust local (except one place and they are talking about $500 just for the piping and labor with me providing the muffler LOL). In addition, most aftermarket "name-brand" exhaust are 2.25in for our cars anyways, except for Skunk2 (which I had a few years ago and I don't like the canister style anymore), Thermal and maybe a few others, and they are big $$$.
With that being said, are 2.5in ebay exhaust truly 2.5in inside diameter? Also, what is your opinion on what I'm trying to do? See any flaws I am not considering? I'm not trying to be a cheap ***, just looking for a cost efficient solution to solve my problem of not having a mandrel bent 2.5in exhaust. Plus, it's just piping, right? I know I may take a chance on piping thickness and welds, but hopefully it shouldn't bite me in the *** too much, right?!? Suggestion? Thanks!

They probably aren't. Ask one of the sellers to confirm i.d. I'd personally go with VRS

I got mine off ebay...its mandrel bent and stainless steel. had it for abaout 3 yrs now and still looks and works very good. no rust. Change the tip since i dont like large tips. other than that i had no problems and cops dont bother me since its quiet.

I doesnt matter on the seller just look for the lowest shipping price. They all come from China. and The chinese use the Same JIG's for setting these fart cannons up.
Not knocking China. Greddy, Apexi and skunk2 have some stuff made out there

I went ahead and ordered one and it came in this morning. The piping inside diameter is "slightly" smaller then 2.5in except behind the resonator where it's almost just "slightly" above 2.25in. Overall, I guess I'm satisfied (but not HAPPY), but since it was only $130. I'll make it work. Thanks for all the inputs.
gotta watch out for some of those ebay exhausts, my friend got a 2.5 catback for a da and one of the bends was like 1.75 hahah.
I was actually kinda impressed with the exhaust. The only problem was the muffler had two dents on the top and on the side. I would of been pissed if the intent was to use the exhaust as-is, but it's not bothering me much since the intent was to use it was a piping kit.

The axle back portion was nearly 2.5in I.D. with the midpipe being slightly smaller (but much larger than 2.25in)
How much do you want for the muffler shipped to 94949? It looks like it would be quieter than my skunk2 exhaust. Pm me.
I looked at alot of reviews of this exhaust and decided for $100 a header and exhaust is okay so I ordered mine yesterday, when I get it I will tell you guys the sizing aswell as post pics and maybe a video of the sound, hopefully not too raspy
May not be the best thread to post to but, I ended up in the situation where I needed a 2.75" exhaust. 2.5" was to small and 3" was to large. So I had tubes mandrel bent and I welded up a home built custom test pipe / cat back exhaust see links below for picks.
Yes I'm very particular and wanted everything SS and Smooth bents were mandatory.
I searched long and hard for SS good performing 2.75" mufflers and resonators with no success so I reluctantly went with 3".

I know this exhaust is good for 246 whp @7800 and 174 TQ @ 4800rpm on n/a fully built ls vtec because that's what the car dynoed at :-)

ebay exhausts arent bad. its mainly the welds that are bad. (header for example, just go back over the welds. lol.) just bc something is cheap dont mean it wont work.
