Default Best location to hide alarm unit and siren?

I am getting an alarm system (type unknown yet) and I am good at electronic wireing etc etc, and plus I just don't trust any shops around here, so where is the "best" location to place the main unit, and the "best" location for the siren.

Any suggestions would help greatly.

I don't think anyone is going to answer your question because essentially they would have just given away where their alarm brain is hidden... so I'm just going to leave it at "be creative" and hide it where its hard to access, not an obvious place... the more panels you have to rip out, or the more out of the way it is/hard to access the better...

dont do it under the dash, and put it somewhere difficult, sidepaneling, break apart the dash etc.

Don't forget a very important piece, the BATTERY BACK UP. Without this, a thief can pop your hood and disconnect the battery in a matter of seconds. Even the best alarm place in the most secrative location is useless without a battery back up.

hood pin and hood lock are also usefull too along w/ the quality of the install.. then you can always add sensors, pagers, and other accessories if you wish to.. and manual lock devices and kill switches..

Get a battery back up indeed, then some good places, are under front seats, or somewhere inside the dash, like behind the guage cluster, or the a/c vents, and then tape all the wiring under the dash so it looks like tha factory looming, and blend it in with factory wiring. also i mounted my siren somewhere in my bumper...like on tha support or something, then hid the wiring goin to it......just be creative....and if it took u a cool 15-20 minutes to take the car apart to get to the alarm, im sure i theif wont do the same. hope i could help

best thing ive even seen is installing a cheapo alarm under the dash w/ some wires going to places and then installing the real alarm somewhere where its hard to get to and not easy to disable, like behind the dash or radio.. i personally have a viper alarm mounted in a great location and then have a backup battery + siren, plus 2 normal sirens hidden as well, a shock, and motion sensor and also installed hood and trunk protection..
