Default Having problems. Squeaking and throttle= check engine light.

I start my 89 lx-i and start to drive today and its squeaking like uh-uh-uh-uh not a contant squeak but like a repetative one. So i turn around and pull in to my drive way the and throw it in meutral and as im about to get out i hear the engine going ruhh ruhh ruhh like im like pressin the throttle then letting off and pressing it again etc. Then the check engine light pops on wtf?? Any ideas

Have you checked what code is stored in the ECM? If you crank the vehicle and open the hood which side of the car squeaks Engine side/ Transmission side? Maybe a distributor bearing seizing? easy to inspect. Remove distributor feel motion of bearing.

Change the distributor. But get the CEL code first. Last thing you wanna do is waste time and money swapping parts that don't fix the problem.
